Microsoft has added new video playback settings. You can access the settings if you are using Windows 10 starting from build 16215.
Aside from these settings, Microsoft has equally added various battery settings. So that you can easily make your choice when optimizing video streaming for video quality or battery usage.
Do you want to know how to improve video quality? Just keep reading.
Many of the Windows apps in use today make use of the inbuilt video platform in Windows 10. These are Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps, which is inbuilt into Windows 10.
Examples of which are Movies & TV, Photos, and Microsoft Edge, together with any third-party video apps. All of which you can obtain from Microsoft Store, like Vudu, Netflix and Hulu. The video playback on these apps can be easily controlled using the settings in Windows 10.
The video playback settings on Windows 10 can be easily accessed through WinX Menu. Select Settings and it will bring out a listed series of items. Pick Apps among them and then navigate to Video playback.
The type of monitor you are using also contributes a great deal to the result you can get from this process. Aside from the type of monitor, you also need to consider the graphics capability of your computer.
In the process of carrying out the settings, your computer can display a preview of what the streaming video will resemble after the settings have been completed.
You can access the following options while carrying out the video settings for playback.
How to Change HDR settings for your display
The video display can make a whole lot of difference. It can improve video quality a lot. Even if your computer can support 4K video processing, you will not be able to experience the 4K if your monitor is a 1080P monitor.
If you have a computer system that supports it, simply click on Windows HD color settings link and go ahead to configure the monitor. You can also find out if your computer display is able to stream HDR content, use WCG Apps and play HDR games.
After connecting a TV that is capable of displaying HDR10 or after connecting it to a Windows 10 computer that can display WCG and HDR, you will receive a more detailed, vibrant and brighter picture. If these options are supported by your monitor, it will result in an enhancement all through your computer system. You can go a step further by calibrating your monitor to improve the viewing experience.
Enhancing the streaming videos
This feature depends entirely on your hardware. Once it is turned on, your computer will utilize the GPU for video picture enhancement. It will improve your streaming videos quality.
Playing video of lower resolution
If the video streaming fails to work as you have expected it to, you can go ahead and adjust the resolution to something lower. If there is a need for it, this option can equally work for saving network bandwidth.
You must bear in mind that there are minimum requirements to bear in mind for the display on your monitor. For one, the monitor must have a minimum inbuilt display of 11080P. It must also have a minimum brightness of 300 nits. Furthermore, the external display should support HDR10 and HDMI 2.0 or Display Port 1.4 or something higher than that.
